Light has always been our inspiration – since 1918, when Hanns Kolarz, the great-grandfather of today’s KOLARZ generation, founded a lampshade factory in Vienna. In 1970, the company headquarters with a factory outlet was opened in Breitenfurt near Vienna, while the KOLARZ City Shop remained in the original Viennese building. In the following decades, KOLARZ became increasingly international – with representatives and partners on every continent.

Hanns Kolarz’ passion for light lives on. Our Austrian family business, now in its fourth generation, illuminates spectacular spaces around the world: KOLARZ delivers innovative lighting design for gigantic skyscrapers, legendary department stores, luxury hotels, restaurants, concert halls and offices, as well as for private living rooms.
